Carreg-y-Big is a large, tapering standing stone on level ground, occupying a hollow at the base of a rocky knoll. The standing stone measures circa 1.9 meters in height, 1.0 meters in width and 0.5m in thickness. The stone is visible for some distance to the south.
There is a nearby National Trust car park from where a number of paths lead to several interesting prehistoric sites.
